It's been a while since I wrote one of these. The last few months have been a lot. Financially, emotionally, and in ways I can't really talk about yet. But somehow, managed to survive. I had promised myself I'd keep writing these weekly notes, even if life got messy. One of my friends(Krishna Sai checked on me, thanks to him). So, here it comes.

Reading

Reading has been odd lately. I go through phases where I simply can't focus

  • I occasionally switch to Shroud when I want to escape reality. Half way through.
  • Was reading Humankind: A Hopeful History. But life got heavier to look from that angle at this moment. Gave it a pause at 60%, will resume
  • Started The Order of Time yesterday and I'm already hooked. 50% done, could have finished if it wasn't for bad neck pain. It's been a while since a book pulled me in this quickly. Surprisingly, last week I managed to read quite a bit, and it felt nice to have that part of me back.

Teaching and Timeboxing

I block time to teach or share what I had learnt and had been consistent last month. Most of the teaching I do comes from curiosity. I read, wander into a rabbit hole, and then feel like sharing it. One thing I've learnt over the last few weeks is that teaching and travel together take more out of me than I usually account for. I just need to manage my time and energy around them better.

Work

I've been travelling to my cousin's office quite a bit. The commute, along with poor sleep, has been leaving me with the occasional neck pain, but it's part of what needs to be done right now.. There's a lot happening on that side that I can't really share yet. Hopefully someday. Hopefully for better. Some visions begin with uncomfortable starts, I think.

Travel

I might be travelling by the end of the month for a break. Before that, I need to make a quick trip to Hubballi for a Tatkal passport. I somehow booked visa without checking that my passport was nearing expiry. A few bank-related address proof things are pending too, so that's on this week's list. Will be quite a busy week.

General

I am a fan of automation. I love automating the boring stuff. But I think a few chores are worth keeping. Lately, boring life sometimes is more peaceful. Walking my dog. Cooking every now and then. Things that don't really save time, but somehow keeps me grounded. I've also been mixing things up a bit. Some days it's reading, some days it's art. It's less about productivity and more about resetting. I start the day much better when I get a slow morning with Hemanth and Tars. So I try to get most of the chores done the previous night.

Tars

I've been wondering what to do about Tars' training. He's a good boy, honestly. He just barks a lot. I think that's simply how he communicates instead of staying quiet. Poor thing. I've been looking at training classes, but I'm still not sure what the right approach is. I don't want him to stop expressing himself. I just want to teach him that not everything needs to be announced to the neighbourhood. Open to suggestions.

Taking one week at a time.
