The new year has not been very smooth so far, but I am not reading too much into it. Things happen, you deal with them, and move on. I did not really have the mindspace or energy to write all these weeks, but I pulled myself together today although its mid of a week.
Setbacks
- Health-wise, the month was very rough. A bad viral knocked me out for weeks, and I had to take a few days off to recover.
- Work and day-to-day life had few unexpected disruptions. My bank account was frozen without warning so all my transactions were cancelled. I had to make a sudden trip to Chennai to sort things out with bank.
- Somewhere during that travel, I misplaced my AirPods but thankfully, the store owner helped courier them back.
- My Apple Pencil broke, so I bought a new one, only to realise it does not work with my current iPad version. Could not finish a few Zero Maintenance sketches. Will order the right one once finances settle. This one is up for sale.
- Felt low on motivation and could not focus much on work during the start of the month. My mind kept wandering all over the place.
Good stuff and people
- I’ve been feeling quietly happy about Inkhouse and wrote down why I started it. Putting that into words felt important.
- Wrote two blog posts: on work and on curiosity
- Visited Bobby's place once along with his partner. We spent good time doing nothing but watching the sunset. I met him again for coworking one of the days. He is travelling with his friends to Russia.
- Met Kaushik couple of times and also received souvenirs back from his Spain trip.
- Meeting cousin on regular basis along with his team shoots my spirit up. Somedays I take tars along.
- Tars, Hemanth and I visited Neralu farm and we spent good time running around, painting and playing with water. Much needed break.
- Sent my uncle off to visit his granddaughter(my niece, Ana!). He was so excited that he even texted me saying this was the first time he did not mind buying coffee inside an airport.
- Yash and I tried recording a podcast, and it became clear that getting comfortable takes repetition. Each attempt helps sharpen and structure our thoughts a little more. He also visited home once with Suneela, and we spent a relaxed evening together with pizza, coffee, and Tars.
